Mary Milford has a dual background of law and real estate. She graduated from the SMU School of Law with a JD, and practiced with the Law Offices of Earl Luna in Dallas until 1989. She took time out from her law practice to get a Broker's license in 1980, whereupon she worked full-time in real estate sales for several years to have a more flexible schedule that allowed her to travel with her husband.
Mary joined Collin County Community College in 1989 as a fulltime professor and became the Department Chair in 2000. She has guided the Collin College real estate program to an "exemplary" program rating by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board since 2000.
Mary has been awarded many college and teaching honors including selection as the Outstanding Faculty Member of division. In addition, she was selected to teach "Instructional Methodology" in Ivanova, Russia for three weeks. Mary has been an Affiliate member of CCAR since 1989.
